RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery
John qualified from University College Dublin in 2012, starting out his career in Northern Ireland, in Drumahoe and Enniskillen for 4 years.
In 2016 he moved to London, working with the charity Celia Hammond Animal Trust. With a high volume of surgical cases, this was ideal place for him to undertake the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery which he completed with distinction by synoptic exam in 2019.
Moving to Dublin, he joined Anicare Veterinary Group as their Orthopaedic Surgeon where he saw both first opinion and referral cases, later becoming Clinical Director there.
Since launching Northwest OrthoVet in 2024, John works with local practices to provide expert surgical care to the pets of the Northwest.
John is an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery as well as a current member of AO Vet and the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association.
